Detailed Itinerary from Da Nang to Monkey Mountain:
- Our experienced driver will pick you up at your Da Nang hotel, and the half-day tour to Monkey Mountain will begin. Our private car will take you to Son Tra Peninsula, where the first stop is Linh Ung Pagoda – home to the tallest Lady Buddha statue in Vietnam, both in height and architectural design.
- Linh Ung Pagoda spans 20 hectares on Son Tra Mountain and includes multiple structures such as the main hall, lecture hall, ancestral house, library, cafeteria, and an Arhat statue garden. The pagoda beautifully merges contemporary and traditional Vietnamese temple styles.
- The standout feature of Linh Ung Pagoda is the Lady Buddha statue, towering at 67 meters. It rests atop a 35-meter-wide lotus base, bringing the total height to over 100 meters—equivalent to a 30-story building.
- Next, we’ll stop for photos in front of the Intercontinental Sun Peninsula Resort, where you can often spot wild monkeys on the trees and rocks. You’ll also visit the ancient Banyan Tree, over 800 years old, and Chessboard Peak, which stands at 693 meters above sea level.
- The 1000-year-old Banyan Tree, known as the Son Tra banyan tree, is a high mountain banyan that belongs to the Mulberry family. It rises 22 meters high with a trunk circumference of 85 meters, its branches forming a solid structure that has endured for centuries. Discovered in 1771, it is recognized as one of Vietnam’s most majestic trees.
- We’ll also visit Ban Co Peak and the Rada Station for photos and enjoy panoramic views of Da Nang beach city from the mountain. Ban Co Peak, located in Son Tra Nature Reserve about 9 km from Da Nang city center, is the highest peak in the area, offering breathtaking views.
- Our final stop is the Viewpoint (Vong Canh Hill), which provides stunning vistas. Visiting Vong Canh Hill is best on dry, sunny days, where you can take in a panoramic view of Ngoc Island and Hai Van Pass, all while enjoying a refreshing atmosphere.
- After exploring all the sites on this trip from Da Nang to Monkey Mountain, our friendly driver will return you to your hotel in Da Nang.
