In the ancient times, an old woman came on the hill at the location of pagoda. She told people that a Lord will build a Buddhist pagoda for the prosperity of the country in this area. After that Lord Nguyen Hoang started construction of the pagoda and named it “heaven fairy lady” that translates to Thien Mu.
