Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park is a home to the largest natural cave in the world by volume. It is known as Son Doong Cave Vietnam. It has a subterranean river flowing from it as a largest cross section of any cave in the world.
The cave was discovered by a local man Ho Khanh in 1991 but he forgot the entrance of the cave after returning. He again found it and informed British Cave Research Association, they explored the area and included it in the largest wonders of the world. Best Time to Visit the Son Dong Cave
Cave expedition of Son Doong cave is for 3 to 4 days. It includes two extra days for logistics and important activities. Cave is open for tourists from January to August and after that it is closed due to extreme weather and rains.
Adventures of the Son Doong Cave
It is not a very easy to get around trip whereas only physically active people can explore the cave. It is necessary to maintain body weight, practice some trekking and physical activities to maintain a reasonable strength. Exploring Son Doong Cave is a lifetime experience.

- Valuable items – Do not take big amount of money or valuable items on the cave expedition. Such items can get damaged or lost in the jungle.
- Clothing – Keep non waterproof trekking shoes that dry quickly, full sleeve T-shirts and Long pants. Shorts and other exposing clothes are not recommended to avoid sunburns, thorns, rashes, poison ivy or any kind of bug bite.
- Electricity – There is no electricity in the cave so you cannot charge phone, tablet and other electronic devices. There is a satellite phone to connect in case of emergency.
