Visiting the cave system in Phong Nha Ke Bang
1. Phong Nha Cave
Phong Nha Cave is the most typical scenic spot of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park and is also chosen by many tourists. Phong Nha is the most prominent among the caves, with a survey length of up to nearly 8km, with many beautiful caves and eye-catching stalactites. All make up the majestic beauty, bringing a sense of excitement, relaxation and comfort to visitors coming here to visit. Because Phong Nha cave is a wet cave with a dense underground river system, you will experience riding a boat down the Son River inside the cave during the tour. You will buy a ticket from Phong Nha Tourist Center, get on a boat along the Son River for more than 30 minutes to reach the cave, continue sailing deep into the cave and walk about 500m to visit more before getting on the boat back to the Travel Centre. Inside the cave are limestone blocks eroded and eroded by rainwater, creating many stalactites with strange shapes. Coming here, the miracle of nature’s creation will touch you. Phong Nha Cave Entrance Fee

Boat to visit Phong Nha cave: 550,000 VND/ship with a life jacket, carrying up to 12 guests, including children.
In addition, Phong Nha also exploits a tour to discover Phong Nha Cave 4500M Xuyen Son Ho, a kayaking journey, walking deep inside the cave, and swimming through lakes and underground rivers with a length of 9km. Go and return in 6 hours to explore Son Ho. However, this activity needs to be booked in advance by a tour with a reference price of 1,600,000VND/person.
2. Tien Son Cave
 While Phong Nha cave is a wet cave, Tien Son cave is a dry cave because there is no underground river. The cave is located halfway at an altitude of 200m above sea level and about 1000m from the entrance of Phong Nha. So, buy a boat ticket once, and the sailor will transport you to both caves. Because it is a dry cave, the management board has installed stairs inside it so visitors can easily enter and admire the beauty of stalactites dating back millions of years.

3. Paradise Cave
Located in an ancient limestone mountain complex, surrounded by pristine primaeval forests, Thien Duong cave is known as the longest dry cave in Asia, with more than 31.4km long. Only the first 1 km in the cave is exploited for tourists with a shimmering lighting system that makes the stalactites fanciful and beautiful. Furthermore, a modern wooden staircase system is also built, ensuring visitors’ convenience and safety. To visit Thien Duong cave, you have to walk through 524 steps to reach the cave entrance. But as soon as you get to the cave entrance, a cool breeze from the cave will dispel all fatigue and attract you to step inside to discover this magical cave right away.

High season (from April 1st to September 30th): 250,000 VND/adult; 125,000 VND/child
Low season: 200,000 VND/adult; 100,000 VND/child

In addition, the national park also arranges electric cars to transport tourists to visit, with prices from 60,000 VND – 350,000 VND / round (depending on the number of groups).
4. Exploration Cave Tour
In addition to the famous sightseeing areas mentioned above, Phong Nha Ke Bang also has a series of other majestic caves that, if visitors want to visit and experience, they must register for an exclusive tour. Some of these locations include as follows:
- Son Doong Cave: recognized by the British Royal Association as the largest cave in the world. If you want to visit the cave, you must register a long time in advance because Son Doong cave only serves 900 visitors/per year. The price for a tour to experience Son Doong Cave for 6 days and 5 nights is about 70 million VND/person.
- Tu Lan Cave: As a beautiful cave system but entangled and challenging, you need to buy a tour with a team of professional explorers to ensure safety. There are many packages for you to choose from, from Day Expedition Tour (1.8 million VND) to Tu Lan high challenge tour with 6 days and 5 nights (18 million VND/person)
- En Cave: En Cave’s discovery and camping tour are one of the most attractive light-level tours when travelling to Phong Nha. Tour 2 days 1 night to experience Hang En costs 7.6 million/person
There are also some other caves that must be booked with a tour to explore, such as Tien Cave, Va Cave, Nuoc Nuc Cave, Vom Cave, Pygmy Cave, Tra Ang Cave and Survival Valley – Thuy Cung Cave. 6. Chay River – Dark Cave
Chay River – Dark Cave is a new adventure eco-tourism route of Quang Binh tourism. Here, you can participate in many adventure games, such as ziplining to Dark Cave and jumping down from the zipline (a form of rope swing) to drop into the cool water, participate in water games, or kayak on the Chay River to explore Dark Cave.
Dark Cave is also one of the most beautiful Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park caves, which would equip you with a flashlight to visit and experience a fascinating natural mineral mud bath.

7. Phong Nha Botanical Garden
Phong Nha Botanical Garden is a nature preserve of Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park, ​​up to 40ha wide. With nature’s wild and majestic beauty, this place is not only an attractive destination for researchers but also very popular with tourists when travelling to Phong Nha Ke Bang.
Coming to the botanical garden, you will have the opportunity and learn about the wild nature and the rich and rare flora and fauna ecosystem of the primaeval forest. The highlight of the botanical garden is the beautiful view of the tropical forest with the Wind waterfall over 30m high, the dreamy Vang Anh lake, the native seedling nursery, and the rare forest with populations of green iron, sulfur and mahogany.

Depending on your health, you can choose the appropriate route:
- Sightseeing route 1 (2,500m long): Specimen Gallery – Indigenous Seedling Nursery – Vang Anh Lake – Centennial Sao Tree – Hope Hill – Wind Waterfall.
- Sightseeing route 2 (5,000m long): Specimen Exhibition House – Wind Waterfall – Fairy Waterfall – Old Guava tree – Ammunition Cave – Hundred-year-old Star Tree – Vang Anh Lake (applied to visitors following the tour). Tour accompanied by a guide, not applicable for free visitors) with around 5 hours per day and no more than 20 people/per trip.
