During 1975, this museum was established in the US information agency building. It was created as the gallery of American puppet crimes after the reunification of Vietnam. However, relations of US and Vietnam were normalized in 1990. Display of Museum contains things related to war crimes by French, Americans and the indo-China first and second wars.

Visit different floors of the building

The first area after entrance has display related to the countries that rallied against American and French intervention in Vietnam. Name of this section is “the world supports Vietnam in its resistance”. Upper floors of the building contain the display of artefacts, guns, bombs, knives, photos and information about attacks and military campaigns. It also shows the impact of chemical substance Agent orange on human health and human remains.

Ground outside the Museum

Everything in the museum portrays chilling details of the war. Ground outside the building have a huge collection of torture equipment, artilleries, UH-1 Huey helicopter, F5A fighter, M48 Patton tank and many other things of US and French origin. There is a guillotine on one of the grounds outside the building that was used by both Vietnamese and French to behead prisoners. Grotesque tiger cages are also placed which was used by Southern Vietnamese government to cage and torture its victims.

Collections of the museum

There is an extensive range of items, graphic photos and horrifying details of war such as My Lai Massacre, Agent orange effect and use of different chemical substances on the Vietnamese population. Many photos are clicked by famous photographers of that time like Japanese photographer Ishikawa Bunyo, Robert Capa, Larry Burrow and famous war photographer Tim page.

Museum houses many informative and disturbing items. Agent orange deformed fetuses of women that resulted in the birth defects of more than five hundred thousand children. These preserved fetuses are also displayed in the museum collection. Flechette was a secret weapon that contained thousands of darts in one shell. Weight of one bomb was 6000 kgs. It gives spine chilling thoughts about the horrors that humans are capable of.
