Overview of Reunification palace
Reunification palace or independence palace is a popular attraction among locals and foreigners. It is among the most visited historical land marks in Vietnam that thousands of people visit from all over the world. This place became world famous in 1975 due to the rich and colorful history as well as its architecture. In 1868 governor of Cochinchina, La Grandiere started construction work of first colonial building in the city.

Things to do at Reunification palace

Chamber of the building has cabinet venue for meetings, library with many books and many sections for other important things. This area has a capacity of more than 500 people. Rooftop is a very important part of the building because it has a heliport. It remained South Vietnam’s president workplace during the war.
You can see the architecture and interior style of south Vietnam in 1960s. It was an important place for the end of the war. Replica of No. 390 tank is placed in the ground outside the building that crashed during the war in April 1975.
Check the vintage things placed in the recreation room of the building such as circular sofa, radios, phones, office equipment and different maps hanging on the walls. You can learn more about the war by the historic photos and propaganda film about American imperialists and Vietnamese supporters.
