Take the Train<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Taking the<strong> train from Hoi An to Phong Nha<\/strong> normally takes eight hours and it includes a bus trip as well.\u00a0 The first part of your journey will include a bus ride from Hoi An to Da Nang.\u00a0 The cost for the bus ride is quite reasonable at 20,000 VND, but you can spend a little more if you are in a hurry and want to take a shuttle or taxi to the train station in Da Nang instead.\u00a0 The length of the bus ride is approximately forty-five minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have arrived at the Da Nang train station, you will board the train to Dong Hoi.\u00a0 The cost for this ride is currently 185,000 VND.\u00a0 While there are many different trains leaving for Dong Hoi, I recommend that you choose the one that leaves around 10 in the morning, because it arrives in Dong Hoi six hours later, which is perfect for catching the four or five o\u2019clock bus to your final destination.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3258 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/explorevietnam.com.vn\/hoi-an\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Travel-by-Train.jpg\" alt=\"hoi an to phong nha by train\" width=\"850\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/explorevietnam.com.vn\/hoi-an\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Travel-by-Train.jpg 850w, https:\/\/explorevietnam.com.vn\/hoi-an\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Travel-by-Train-300x176.jpg 300w, https:\/\/explorevietnam.com.vn\/hoi-an\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Travel-by-Train-768x452.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As soon as your train arrives in Dong Hoi, it will be time to board the bus for the journey to Phong Nha.\u00a0 This portion of the trip will take between an hour and an hour and a half for a cost of 35,000 VND.\u00a0 You must also plan on paying 25,000 VND for the taxi ride from the Dong Hoi train station to the local bus station.\u00a0 If you want to skip this last bus ride, and arrive in Phong Nha a little faster, you could always splurge for a taxi ride.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Take_the_Bus\"><\/span>3. Take the Bus<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If the thought of switching modes of transportation constantly for your <strong>trip from Hoi An to Phong Nha<\/strong> is too much, then I recommend that you simply take the bus the entire way.\u00a0 You will need to switch buses when you arrive in Hue, but that is minimal to the changes that are required in the options above.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3260 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/explorevietnam.com.vn\/hoi-an\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/hoi-an-to-phong-nha-by-bus.jpg\" alt=\"hoi an to phong nha by bus\" width=\"850\" height=\"510\" srcset=\"https:\/\/explorevietnam.com.vn\/hoi-an\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/hoi-an-to-phong-nha-by-bus.jpg 850w, https:\/\/explorevietnam.com.vn\/hoi-an\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/hoi-an-to-phong-nha-by-bus-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/explorevietnam.com.vn\/hoi-an\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/hoi-an-to-phong-nha-by-bus-768x461.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The total time for the two bus rides is approximately eight and a half hours and you will find yourself on the Hanh Caf\u00e9 bus before transferring to the Hung Thanh bus.\u00a0 The Hanh Caf\u00e9 bus departs from an area near the Hoi An post office and the location for the next bus is where the first one stops in Hue.<\/p>\n<p>If you do not mind arriving a little later in Phong Nha, you may want to consider taking a bus that stops at both the DMZ Bridge and the VincMoc tunnels, as those are two destinations that are always considered must-see in Vietnam.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Take_by_private_car\"><\/span>4. Take by private car<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Phong Nha \u2013 Ke Bang National Park is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2003. <strong>The distance from Hoi An to Phong Nha<\/strong> is about 340 km on high way 1A.
