Sapa 3 Days 2 Nights: Hanoi – Sapa – Laochai – Tavan – Giang Ta Chai – Hanoi is ideal for those who want to stay longer in Sapa and experience one night at a homestay in a hill tribe community and one night at a hotel in Sapa. You will have free time between lines to explore Sapa’s hidden charms, particularly the welcoming services provided by Explore Vietnam.
SAPA 3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS
HANOI – SAPA – LAOCHAI – TAVAN – GIANG TA CHAI – CAT CAT -HANOI
(1 night at homestay in Ta Van village, 1 night in hotel)
Day 1: Hanoi – Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van village (L, D)
- 6:30 am: We will pick you up from the bus station, put you in a sleeper bus, and take you to Sapa Town.
- 9:30 am: After the first rest stop, continue on the highway to Lao Cai.
- 11:00 am: Second rest stop in Lao Cai before heading to Sapa
- 01:00 pm: Arrive in Sapa Town wearing colorful traditional H’Mong, Dzao, and Tay ethnic clothing.

– Enjoy a lunch of traditional Vietnamese cuisine.
- 02:45 pm: Continue the trip with a short drive to Y Linh Ho. Then, trek through the rice terraces and down Muong Hoa Stream to the Black Hmong town of Lao Chai, where you’ll be able to observe the breathtaking scenery of Hoang Lien Son Mountain. You arrive in Ta Van hamlet, home to the Dzay ethnic group, late in the afternoon.
(The trek is around 9 kilometers long and lasts approximately 3.5 hour)
- 05:45 pm: Check-in your homestay and get to know the Dzay People family. Spend some time on Sunset enjoying the mountain life. You can make local dishes with the local family and enjoy a peaceful meal.
In the evening, you can go to a nearby bar with music and chat with other travelers before spending the night at a homestay.
Day 2: Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai village – Cat Cat village (B, L, D)
- 8:00 am: Start the day with a delicious breakfast made by the family and an exciting trek.
- 8:45 am: Continue heading to the rice paddies for a beautiful photo time with the breathtaking scenery.
- 11.00 am: Trek through the Giang Ta Chai Bridge to main road, bus picks you up to come back Sapa Town. Trek through the bamboo forest and halt for a panoramic view of Giang Ta Chai village, home of the red Dzao people.
(The trek is around 4 kilometers long and takes about 2 hours)
- 12.00 – 02:00 pm: Welcome drink at the hotel, great Vietnamese cuisine for lunch, and check-in processes.
- 02:30 pm: A short walk takes you to the gate of Cat Cat village, which is home to the Black H’mong ethnic group and is located near the bottom of a deep valley at the base of Fansipan Peak. Our local guide will show you the villagers’ daily activities. Trek down to the bottom of the valley to the waterfall where the French built a Hydraulic Power Station. Stop for a photo with the bridge and waterfall, then hike uphill to the bus stop to return to Sapa in the afternoon.
- 04:30 pm: Return to Sapa Town. Spend the night in a hotel with nighttime activities after dinner.
Day 3: Sapa – Ha Noi (B, L)
- 08.30 am – 12.00 am: Breakfast at the hotel, followed by free time to explore Sapa on your own.
- 12.00 – 01.00 pm: Take a break for lunch and some free time.
- 01.30 pm: Meet all group members at the hotel to prepare for the trip to Hanoi.
- 02.00 pm: Take the bus back to Hanoi with two comfort stops.
- 08.30 pm – 09.00 pm: We’ll say our goodbyes at the bus stop. Finish Sapa 3 Days 2 Nights Tour
Note:
- The first night of the homestay can be switched to the second night. This is dependent on the size of the group and the availability of homestays. Our tour guide will inform you on the way to Sapa via bus.
- The long (9 km) trip is not recommended for old people or kids.
Thing to bring:
- A hat, a scarf and warm clothing are recommended because the weather in Sapa is unpredictable. The months of September to March of the following year are often cold.
- Sapa’s altitude makes it foggy at times between December and March of the following year.
- Trekking boots, sunglasses, sunscreen, and insect repellant are all recommended.
- Because Sapa’s banking system is not always available, you should bring cash in Vietnam Dong. The following currencies are accepted: US dollars, euros, and Australian dollars.
- Although there are several pharmacies in Sapa, you should bring your own medicine in case you get sick.
- The facilities at the homestay are not as good as those at the Sapa hotel.
